Creating a Culture of Generosity
Just as baptism is an outward sign and visible sign of a growing relationship with Jesus, so generosity is an outward sign of the Holy Spirit continually grow and expand within your life. We love to give, share and serve because we know we cannot outgive God. We never give out guilt or pressure, but as a natural response to God’s extravagant grace. Generosity is both a privilege and an act of defiance against the me-first culture.
Gratitude and Generosity are inseparably linked.
GRATITUDE is breathing in – accepting and expanding our lives with the unseen power of Grace. Where Grace Happens, Generosity Happens!
GENEROSITY is breathing out – releasing our anxiety, greed and fear to God. We are the happiest when we release our gifts and trinkets and invest in God’s kingdom and mission.
Stewardship
STEWARDSHIP is investing in what you believe, adding weight to your convictions and becoming part of the solution rather than a cynic. Stewardship invites you to live less out of habit and more out of intent.
The purpose of the STEWARDSHIP program was designed to help people challenge themselves each year by asking themselves two essential questions, (1) “How do I feel God has blessed me in the past year?” (Awareness) and (2) How do I feel God is calling me to respond?” (GENEROSITY)
As long as people ask themselves these two fundamental questions prayerfully and honestly, we don’t so much care about the answers they give.
