Welcome to United Methodist Temple! My name is Chuck Pullins, Lead Pastor. I began my journey with the people from Temple on July 1, 2008. Temple has had a long history of ministry to the Beckley and Raleigh County community.
I love giving leadership to my staff and this congregation. They are people who have historically been willing to risk, relocate, retool, rethink, and regenerate their ministry. Our goals center around our vision of “connecting all people to Christ”.
These days are a special gift from God that will continue to challenge us as we share our faith in Jesus as the Son of God.
Personally, i am married to Vickie Hinzman, my High School sweetheart, who i met in church as a youth. We have been married since December 19, 1970. We have three children; Chad who is married to Amanda Campbell and lives with their three children in Fayetteville, North Carolina; Adrienne who is married to Rob Wilson, Jr. and their three children who live in Columbus, Ohio; David and his dog Faith who live in Boulder, Colorado. Vickie is the co-owner of LinguaCare Associates, Inc., which is a speech and language rehab company serving in south, east, and central West Virginia.
Vickie and i both enjoy playing golf and i continue to venture into the wildernesses of this country in pursuit of Wild Turkeys. I have completed my first grand slam and i am one bird short of my second.
May the days ahead find you “strong and courageous…not trembling or dismayed”, because “God is with us every step of the way” (Joshua 1:5, 9).
